Many people know Alex Edelman for his standup comedy. For some time, he's been performing his autobiographical show, "Just For Us.” That show recently moved to Broadway and opened last month.
The one-person show revolves around Edelman's experiences as a Jewish person growing up in Boston. It's also about the time he went to a meeting of white supremacists to confront their antisemitic beliefs in person. This is Edelman's Broadway debut. The show is running at the Hudson Theatre.

‘Sabbath's Theater’ play based on Philip Roth novel

And this fall, a new play will debut with a strong New Jersey connection. One of Philip Roth’s books has been adapted into a play opening this fall off-Broadway. Roth is a famous novelist from Newark. He died in 2018 after a prolific and highly awarded career.
The New Group is staging the play “Sabbath's Theater” at Pershing Square Signature Center in New York City. The book was published in 1995 and is one of Roth's racier but comedic works.
The adaptation of "Sabbath's Theatre" was co-written by actor John Turturro, who will also star in the production. Performances begin in New York in October.
