A Trenton man is accused of stabbing a woman multiple times and running her down with his vehicle after she left her Burger King job at the Woodrow Wilson Service Area rest stop along the New Jersey Turnpike.
New Jersey state troopers were called to the service area just after 3 a.m. Thursday for reports of an employee laying on the ground. She was identified as 22-year-old Trenton resident Jamyra Odom. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators were soon able to identify a white SUV as a potential suspect vehicle in the case. That SUV was found parked at Capital Health Systems Fuld Campus in Trenton.
Police identified the driver as 23-year-old Dandre McDaniels, of Trenton. He was being treated in the emergency room for lacerations on his hands.
Investigators say that McDaniels stabbed Odom as she left work. He then allegedly struck her with the SUV as he drove away. Authorities say that McDaniels and Odom knew each other.
McDaniels was charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes. He is being held at the Mercer County Correctional Center.
