Officials: Student hit by car after leaving high school football game dies

Counselors are expected to be on hand at Dover High School today after a student who was hit by a car last week died over the weekend, according to members of the school community.

Officials: Student hit by car after leaving high school football game dies
Counselors are expected to be on hand at Dover High School today after a student who was hit by a car last week died over the weekend, according to members of the school community.
According to officials, 15-year-old Steven Gomez-Restrepo died over the weekend.

Officials say Steven was in a medically induced coma at Morristown Medical Center since being hit by a driver more than a week ago on Route 46 in Rockaway.
Steven was leaving a high school football game back on Sept. 13 at Morris Knolls High School.
The Dover High School track and field program tweeted the news of his death as well.
Academy Street School, where Steven's younger sister attended, will also have counselors on hand.
Funeral arrangements were not immediately available.

The Rockaway Police Department has yet to release an accident report.
