Officials: Person fatally struck by NJ Transit train
Officials say a person was fatally struck by a NJ Transit train near the Matawan-Aberdeen station.
The incident happened Monday around 10:50 p.m.
The person, whose name was not released, was hit by a train traveling from Penn Station to Long Branch on Main Street.
North Jersey Coast Line service has since resumed in both directions between Hazlet and South Amboy after service was suspended overnight.
