Officials: Paterson child found safe, suspect arrested following Amber Alert

Amber Alert was issued after Zander Abad was abducted overnight.

A 2-year-old boy abducted from Paterson was found safe Friday, and a suspect was taken into police custody, Paterson Mayor Andre Sayegh said.
An Amber Alert was issued just after 1:30 a.m. after Zander Abad was abducted in the area of Piercy and Holsman streets.
The witnesses said that the abductor was armed with a handgun and assaulted the woman before taking her son.
The suspect was identified as 33-year-old Junior Nunez. He and Abad were found near Presidential Boulevard and Temple Street at around 6 a.m.
According to authorities, both were in good health. Nunez was arrested without incident and faces kidnapping, carjacking, weapons and child endangerment charges.
