The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office has announced a woman from Haledon was struck and killed by a New Jersey Transit bus.

The incident happened Thursday just before 4:30 p.m.

Officials say the 67-year-old woman was walking across Haledon Avenue near the intersection with Belmont Avenue when she was struck by the bus.

The woman was brought to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

No other vehicles were involved in the collision. No one else was injured.

The driver of the bus remained on the scene.
