(AP) -- State police say a motorcyclist who fled from troopers has died after a wrong-way crash involving another vehicle.
Troopers initially tried to stop the motorcyclist on Route 80 in Totowa around 2:50 a.m. Sunday. But they chose not to pursue the rider after the person drove off at a high rate of speed.
Authorities learned later Sunday morning that the motorcyclist had collided with a car. A preliminary investigation found the motorcyclist was driving the wrong way in the highway's westbound lanes when the bike hit a car.
The motorcycle driver was killed in the accident. The car's driver suffered minor injuries.
The name of the motorcyclist has not been released.
