An 8-year-old boy from Newark who went missing earlier this week has been found safe.
Niyad Robinson was reported missing Sunday, Sept. 16. He was last seen in East Orange.
A post on the East Orange City Hall Facebook page states that Robinson was found Friday in Newark by a police officer. The boy was unharmed.
Officials say that the boy was turned over to the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency for further investigation.
Officials did not say why the boy disappeared or where in Newark he was found.
