The New Jersey Office of the Attorney General is investigating the death of a Woodbridge man who was killed in a motorcycle crash on Route 1 last week.
Officials identified the man as 29-year-old Odean Cummings.
According to Attorney General Gurbir Grewal, Cummings was riding his motorcycle on Route 1 just before 10 a.m. on June 16 when police officers attempted to pull him over for a traffic stop. Cummings allegedly accelerated and failed to stop.
Officials say that Cummings was eventually struck by a truck on Route 1 and was pronounced dead at the scene.
By state law, the Attorney General's Office investigates all deaths that occur during an encounter with law enforcement officers.
