7ds agoAn Ocean County employee was injured while cleaning the site of a fire that destroyed a Long Beach Island mansion on Monday.
The Barnegat Light Volunteer Fire Company says a member of the Ocean County Road Department fell and hit their head at the scene. The victim was flown to a trauma center for treatment. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
The fire started inside a house in the Loveladies section of Long Beach Island early Monday morning. More than 100 firefighters responded to the scene.
Officials say the homeowners were not home at the time.
