Officials: 6 people indicted for interstate theft scheme across NJ, 12 other states

The defendants - all from New York - are accused of stealing over $800,000 worth of rental cars and merchandise from Hertz, Lowes and Home Depot from April 2022 to December 2023, according to officials.

Officials say six people are being indicted for an interstate theft scheme which spanned across New Jersey and 12 other states along the East Coast.
The defendants - all from New York - are accused of stealing over $800,000 worth of rental cars and merchandise from Hertz, Lowes and Home Depot from April 2022 to December 2023, according to officials.
Three of the defendants were arrested on Thursday, while two others were already being detained in New York.
One of the defendants remains at large.
