Officials: 2 firefighters injured fighting Keyport marina fire; cause remains unknown

The fire at Brown’s Point Marina was reported around 3 p.m. Monday. Smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.

Monmouth County officials say that the cause of a fire that destroyed three boats at a marina in Keyport remains under investigation – but does not appear to be suspicious at this time.
The fire at Brown’s Point Marina was reported around 3 p.m. Monday. Smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.
Officials say that two firefighters were hurt fighting the fire. One was treated on the scene and the other was taken to the hospital for minor injuries. That firefighter has since been released.
It took crews a little more than three hours to put out the fire.
