Officials say 11 alleged car thieves were arrested for breaking into homes and stealing high end cars from several towns across New Jersey.
They say the vehicles were stolen from homes in West Caldwell, Edison, and other towns.
New Jersey Attorney General Matt Platkin says the vehicles were being sent through Port Elizabeth-- to West African countries. 43 of them were recently recovered from shipping containers at the port. They included high end BMW’s, Mercedes and more.
The stolen cars were stored in a parking garage in the Bronx before being packed into shipping containers.
