The unidentified officer was trying to stop a robbery at a Krauser's convenience store - that's when the suspect shot him and fled the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the officer was grazed and is being treated at University Hospital.
Police say they do have a suspect in custody.
There is no word on what prompted the interaction.
