An off-duty NYPD officer accused of shooting a man in Kingsbridge over a stolen vehicle is now on modified duty.
The officer was place on modified duty after shooting a 30-year-old man in the head over the stolen vehicle.
Published reports at other outlets are stating that the officer's name is Jonathan Baez, and that he worked as security detail for Gracie Mansion and City Hall.
The NYPD has yet to confirm this information with News 12.
Police say the incident happened Monday just before 9:30 p.m. in front of 167 W. 231st St.
The bullets also went flying into the Bronx Public Bar and Kitchen across the street, packed with people watching Monday nights baseball game. It shattered the glass window behind the bar.
The 30-year-old victim is hospitalized and in critical condition.
Police say the Force Investigation Division has taken over the case.
