The Hudson County Superior Court has dismissed a lawsuit filed by New York Waterway against Hoboken over a proposed refueling station.

New York Waterway had a plan to build the station at the Union Dry Dock, but the city did not give the agency approval. The situation eventually made its way to court.

Tensions were high at in the Hudson County court Monday, with a lawyer for New York Waterway referring to the Hoboken Police Department as the “Gestapo” – the secret police of Nazi Germany.

Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla attended the hearing. He said that the comment was insulting.

"I find it utterly offensive and insulting that our police department that works day in and day out to protect and serve the community of Hoboken would be compared to a Nazi regime,” Bhalla said. “I think that the waterway owes an apology to the Hoboken Police Department."

It was unclear if the refueling station would be built at another location.
