Starting today Central and South Jersey commuters will have another option to get across the Hudson.

NY Waterway is expanding ferry service from South Amboy to Wall Street, Pier 11, this morning. Stops still include Brookfield Place and West 39th Street.

The first ferry from South Amboy to NYC launched at the end of October 2023.

News 12 spoke to one of the first commuters going to Wall Street.

"I'm excited," said Fred Arce of East Brunwick, "It's great for me because I used to bring my scooter. I had to take my scooter to Brookfield Place and ride it all the way over to Wall Street."

The ferries are still operating from a temporary dock, a new terminal is in the works.
