New York Waterway is expanding service to and from New Jersey and New York City this week after it adapted safety procedures.
Everyone is required to wear masks and to practice social distancing. As well, all service will run at 50% capacity.
Spokesperson Jennifer Schuk says all ferries, buses and terminals will be cleaned and sanitized multiple times a day.
"The boats, ferries, all sanitized after every trip. The terminals all the time. And I encourage people who are nervous about going into city to come on the ferry, be comfortable, be in fresh air, social distance and enjoy sunshine and relax," she says.
A handful of ferry lines will be added Monday while others will be phased in as demand increases. Schedules and times can be found online.
