New details have been released about what happened when two helicopters crashed in South Jersey last month.

The NTSB's preliminary report says the helicopters, which took off from Hammonton Municipal Airport, were flying close together as if in formation.

Investigators say the blades of one helicopter struck the tail rotor of the other when they got too close.

Both pilots were killed.
