Chinese residents in Livingston are coming together to reach out to victims of China's recent life-shattering earthquake.
Hundreds donated for the cause, some just throwing in pocket change while others are handing over big bucks. More than $44,000 has been raised so far.
Fundraising organizers say everyone is throwing in whatever they can.
"Some of the kids brought their piggy banks," says volunteer Yi Hao. "We also see parents write checks, some of them with tears pouring out."
The money raised will be given to the Chinese Embassy in New York before being handed over to the Red Cross.
The death toll for Monday's quake has risen to nearly 29,000.
