NJDOT priority repairs to the I-80 bridges over Route 15 in Wharton will begin overnight.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Wednesday, April 9 until 5 a.m. Thursday, April 10, and continuing Monday through Friday nights at the same time for approximately two weeks, Route 15 northbound traffic will be shifted before the I-80 bridges over Route 15 to repair bridge joints and concrete spalling.
However, all lanes will be maintained. Route 15 southbound will not be affected.
Work may take place Saturday and Sunday nights, if necessary, due to weather and other factors.
The NJDOT says, "The I-80 bridges over Route 15 are safe. The deterioration of the concrete cover on the bridge
piers is the result of natural bridge aging and not related to ongoing I-80 sinkhole repairs."
