A Senate committee passed a bill this week that would withhold state aid from towns that don't share services.
Local leaders have mixed reviews about the plan.
Mayor Frank Gambatese, of South Brunswick Township, says his town helps surrounding, smaller towns with things such as law enforcement. Gambatese worries that the state would be too heavy handed taking money from towns that are not able to help share services.
According to the new bill, a committee would determine if towns were able to share services and how much money they would save.
