The snow and freezing rain that hit New Jersey Saturday drifted away leaving behind slippery, icy streets and sidewalks.
Residents awoke Sunday to temperatures in the 20s and a morning chore of cleaning up after the storm. Many New Jersey residents took to the streets to scrape and shovel away ice and snow.
Though Sunday afternoon was filled with sunshine and all weather advisories were dropped, some Union neighbors were desperate for a little warm weather.
"My neighbor and I were just talking about moving to Florida one day. I wouldn't miss the change of the seasons at all,? Allan Dressler, of Union, says.
Residents are urged to remove snow and ice from the roofs and windshields of their vehicles before heading out on the streets. According to emergency authorities, flying pieces of ice are a serious hazard to other motorists. Drivers are warned to use caution on the roads going into Monday.
