Many women say that when it comes to shoes, they often put style over comfort.
“I kind of think when it’s a style shoe, I don’t even think about comfort,” says Montvale resident Jessica Bedrim.
But a New Jersey podiatrist has invented a line of shoes for women that are both stylish -- and comfortable.
“I was very frustrated watching women try on high heels and be uncomfortable,” says Dr. Joan Oloff. “I crated a line of high-fashion shoes, luxury shoes, that feel like comfort shoes.”
Oloff says that she grew up around shoes and feet. Her grandfather and father both owned shoe stores. She says that she took that background, plus her medical knowledge to create a technology that reengineers how shoes are built, developing a cute and cozy shoreline, that is also good for the wearer’s overall health.
“It’s shaped more like a food, so your center of gravity is more evenly distributed,” Oloff says. “You don’t have pressure point, so posture is better.”
Oloff says that the shoes will mold to the wearer’s feet over time.
They come in a variety of styles and sizes. A portion of the shoe sales goes to ReachUP, a group Oloff started with soccer star Brandi Chastain. The group supports women and girls in need.
More information about the shoes, including where to buy them, can be found at Oloff’s website.
