Members of the New Jersey National Guard left the National Guard Armory in Teaneck on Friday to help stabilize Washington, D.C. following unrest at the Capitol.
The troops were not able to discuss the specifics of their mission but said that they were ready for anything.
“Whatever we have to do, we will do and make sure everyone is safe and do whatever we can,” said Cpl. Luke Lall.
It was unclear how long they will be deployed in D.C.
A group of New Jersey state troopers is already on the ground in Washington to help out.
