A New Jersey mother whose son is in Israel can breathe a little easier now that she has heard from him.

Cantor Nancy Dubin, from Temple Beth Rishon in Wyckoff, received a voicemail from her 20-year-old son Ari, who is fighting overseas.

Ari joined the Israeli military in December. He told his mother over the weekend that he would not be able to check in with her often.
