? Many New Jersey commuters are hoping the New York City congestion pricing plan fails miserably in Albany on deadline day.

Lawmakers have until midnight Monday to approve the plan. If passed, drivers heading into Manhattan below 60th street will pay an extra $8 between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. Trucks will be hit with a $21 fee.

New Jersey drivers who use the Holland and Lincoln tunnels say the plan is a huge mistake.

?I think [drivers] are paying enough,? says Jersey City resident Lisa Sanders. ?Pay $8 here. You go through five boroughs you have to pay more. I don?t think it?s right.?

Many local leaders also fear increased traffic in their neighborhoods as motorists try to avoid crossings into lower Manhattan. Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich is one of those critics.

?Everyone trying to get to 61st Street and above, where are they going to go?? says Sokolich. ?They are going to come here to the bridge to avoid congestion pricing.?

Gov. Jon Corzine has also spoken out against the plan.

Supporters say congestion pricing will result in cleaner air and the increased use of mass transit.
