New Jersey offers new incentives to get vaccinated, including dinner with Gov. Murphy

Gov. Phil Murphy announced a series of new incentives to encourage New Jersey residents to get vaccinated, expanding on the “Shot and a Beer” program.
“Nine wineries have stepped up and stepped forward to be the first participants in what we’re calling ‘Uncork the Vaccination,’” Murphy said on Wednesday at an event at Island Beach State Park.
Those who get the COVID-19 vaccine this summer will be treated to a free glass of wine from the participating wineries.
“We’re looking forward to getting everyone back out over the summer in a safe manner…but we want you to get vaccinated,” says Garden State Wine Growers Association executive director Tom Cosentino.

Another incentive is a chance to win a private dinner with the governor and first lady Tammy Murphy.
The third incentive is a free visit to one of New Jersey’s state parks this summer.
“We’re calling this one ‘Vax and Visit.’ For every New Jerseyan who has at least their first shot by July 4, is eligible to receive a free season state parks vaccination pass good for entrance to any one of our state parks for the rest of the 2021 season from Memorial Day weekend to the end of this calendar year,” Murphy said.
New Jersey officials say that the goal is to have 4.7 million adults vaccinated by the end of June. They are expecting to hit the 4 million mark by Thursday.
The new incentives launched on Wednesday. Anyone who has already purchased a season pass to state parks and has been vaccinated will be able to get a refund.
