A Newark woman was kidnapped Thursday night as she left the Pathmark on Ferry Street.

Police say the woman was alone and forced at knifepoint into her car by a man around 8:30 p.m. The man drove her car to an ATM on Chestnut Street and forced the woman to withdraw $200. The suspect then drove the woman to Broad Street, got out of the car and ran away.

The woman filed a report with police, who are searching for the suspect. She was unharmed, but shaken up.

The incident was not captured on Pathmark security cameras and went undetected by fellow shoppers and the manager of the store.
