Police have arrested a Newark man for allegedly shooting and killing a sleeping teen Thursday morning.Officials say Terrance Perry shot a gun through the ceiling of his apartment on Newton Street, killing 15-year-old Bukari Washington while he slept in his bed.The victim was found seriously injured with a gunshot wound to the head and taken to the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, where he was pronounced dead.Police say Perry fled the scene but was later found at his girlfriend?s house. According to police, Perry claims the gun, which he kept for protection, went off accidentally. Police are investigating his claim. Friends and neighbors described Washington as a quiet and sweet young man who stayed away from trouble. The suspect has been charged with aggravated manslaughter.
