One of Newark's oldest public housing project's is scheduled for a date with a wrecking ball.
Baxter Terrace was built on Orange Avenue after World War II. Demolition is slated to begin by the end of the year.
The money to tear Baxter Terrace down is coming from a federal grant. It will be replaced with a new development of 340 apartments and houses.
The Newark Housing Authority is offering residents of the project Section 8 vouchers, different public housing or a chance at home ownership to move.
