Newark police are looking for a person wanted in connection to an assault that happened in the city last month.
Officials say Newark officers responded to Jackson and Market streets around 8:30 p.m. on May 31 for reports of an assault. They say the driver of a cleaning service honked his horn at a group of people who were blocking him from getting into Riverview Park.
Police say that after the group moved out of the way, one member of the group threw a glass bottle through the driver’s side window of the vehicle, which struck the victim in the head.
The suspect is described as a Black man with facial hair. He is described as in his late 20s to early 30s. He was wearing a green shirt, blue jeans, black shoes and was carrying a black Adidas duffle bag.
Anyone who may have information is urged to call the 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477). All calls can be kept confidential.
