Newark police officers pulled drivers over during traffic stops Thursday – to show them some love.

Newark police officers Moore and Corbett made several drivers pull to the side of the road and gave them Valentines and flowers.

"What we're doing here today is we created a scenario to engage the community on Valentine's Day,” said Officer Moore.

The officers said that they just want Newark residents to know that the officers are out there for the residents’ wellbeing.

Newark police have done this program for several years.
