New Jersey's largest museum announced it will rely on virtual programming in the months ahead after extending its shutdown.
The Newark Museum of Art postponed its reopening twice. First in October after an employee tested positive for the coronavirus and again this month due to the spike in cases in Newark.
"Some folks may experience the museum solely virtually, still others may go to a program on the weekend that is virtual and then come back and visit the museum during the week because we will really tie together those experiences virtually and on site, but it is here to stay," says Deborah Kasindorf, of the Newark Museum of Art.
The museum's international collections remain off limits to in-person visitors.
