There’s a new service that could potentially help Newark’s most vulnerable.
The city has a new texting hotline. The effort is part of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka’s homelessness strategic plan.
Anyone can use the hotline to help people out on the streets. If you see an unhoused person in Newark who needs nonemergency assistance, text "PATH HOME" to 855-11.
