A 4-year-old Newark girl is recovering from a gunshot wound after she got caught in the crossfire of at least two gunmen Tuesday.

Jala Fields was playing on a playground in the Betty Shabazz Apartments when she was shot in the torso. She had the bullet removed and is expected to survive.

Police say one of the suspected gunmen, 26-year-old Rasheed Nelson, was arrested. Mayor Cory Booker says he wants everyone involved in the shooting arrested. He is urging residents to call the city?s anonymous crime tip line and reminding them of possible cash payouts for valuable information. Residents can call in tips at 1-877-NWK-TIPS.
