The leader of one of the largest drug trafficking operations in Newark has been sentenced to nearly 15 years in prison, according to federal prosecutors.
Prosecutors say the operation flooded the city with heroin and crack cocaine.
Shaheed Blake, 41, and his associates operated from a boarded-up home, selling drugs through a small hole in the wall - mimicking a drive-thru window. This method reportedly generated around $10,000 daily in drug sales.
Blake is the last of approximately two dozen defendants in this case to be sentenced to years behind bars.
