New Jersey residents are preparing for the storm that will bring snow, rain and sleet to New Jersey Sunday through Monday.
People were out shopping Saturday picking up things like shovels, snow blowers, salt and ice scrapers.
The Department of Public Works in Woodbridge was out prepping the roads Saturday to keep people safe. Officials say they have about 100 trucks ready to go for Sunday.
Officials say areas where roads were not brined, like in Woodbridge, are expected to see rain before the snow.
A Code Blue was issued in Atlantic County through Sunday morning. This allows emergency shelters and warming centers to open up to protect people from the potentially dangerously cold temperatures.
Newark officials say signs are already up in designated areas signaling no parking because of the storm. They say cars illegally parked will be ticketed or towed. Residents can also get fined for shoveling snow onto the street. Rutherford officials are also reminding residents to not park in certain areas because of the snow.
Parsippany officials are warning people to remove parked cars from the road. They say it is so plows can have a clear path to clear the snow. The rule is in effect until the snow stops. Police recommend residents check their Rave Mobile Safety Alert profile -- or contact the police with any questions.
According to Flight Aware, 175 flights were delayed Saturday at Newark Liberty International Airport Saturday because of the weather. Three flights were canceled.
Because it is a holiday weekend, many people are traveling. Airlines are now issuing travel waivers because of the storm.
American Airlines says customers traveling Sunday and Monday on flights to and from New York, Philadelphia and other cities can get vouchers. Both United and Delta also giving out waivers during this storm.
