Sunday marked the five-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy. 

More than 2 million households in New Jersey lost power in the storm, and 346,000 were damaged or destroyed.

Across the Northeast, it left at least 125 people dead, including 37 people in New Jersey. The storm caused over $62 billion in economic damage.

Several events were held throughout the state to mark the somber anniversary.

Ortley Beach held a commemoration reception Sunday morning and Freehold Township had a "Tracking Sandy" exhibition.

Asbury Park held a forum for residents to hear from local officials who were at Sandy's Ground Zero.

Residents and visitors were invited to the Hoboken Historical Museum for an open-house to reflect on the storm.

Gov. Chris Christie also joined in on a "Day of Pray" service at St. Andrew's Methodist Church in Toms River.
