After Wednesday night?s debate, Joe Valente, of Verona, felt just a little bit famous.
?When he said Joe the Plumber, I said, ?I'm Joe the plumber.? I felt it was me!" Valente says.
Though the ?Joe the Plumber? mentioned numerous times by both Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barack Obama was not actually Valente, the New Jersey resident says he could also be the symbol of middle class America.
The actual ?Joe the Plumber? is a man from Ohio who is worried Obama?s tax plan will prevent him from opening his own business. Valente, who already owns his business, says his Ohio namesake shouldn?t give up.
"If the economy is good or bad ? if you invest in yourself, there's always a chance," Valente says.
He hopes the mention of his name will bring him business.
