Gas prices continue rising in New Jersey as the war in the Middle East impacts global oil supply.

AAA says prices are up 16 cents in the past week. A gallon of regular now averages $3.14 statewide.

At the Wawa on Route 514 in Edison, regular gas was listed at $3.15 this morning — about a penny less than the current statewide average.

According to AAA, the average price for regular gas in New Jersey was $3.08 yesterday.

One week ago, it was $2.92.

AAA says no oil shipments have moved through a key Middle East passageway since March 2.

Combined with Iranian attacks on oil and gas infrastructure, the situation is creating production and supply concerns that are pushing prices higher.

To manage rising costs, AAA recommends shopping around for the best price and filling up before your tank is empty. The agency also says slowing down on the road can help save fuel, since higher speeds use more gas.
