A New Jersey food bank will hold a donation drive this weekend to help replenish its stock.
The Center for Food Action is a nonprofit organization that distributes meals to low-income families in Bergen and Passaic counties.
“They get snacks, pasta, rice, vegetables…fruits of course,” says site manager Jeanette Melendez.
The CFA hands out 5 million pounds of food annually.
"We alleviate hunger and homelessness in our community,” says director of operations Irwin Vogelman. "It has most of the basics in it to make meals for the week."
The organization also provides assistance with rent and utilities.
