COVID-19 hospitalization and positive cases continue to trend lower as the state ramps up vaccine distributions.
State health officials reported 3,694 new positive cases on Monday, along with 21 additional deaths. The rate of transmission is down once again to .94.
There are now 3,238 COVID-19 patients in New Jersey hospitals, with 596 patients in the ICU and 390 on ventilators.
Gov. Phil Murphy also confirmed that despite a shortage in COVID-19 vaccine doses, the state has distributed more than 565,000 doses. There were 492,000 first doses and nearly 73,000 second doses.
The state also opened its COVID-19 vaccine hotline, particularly for senior citizens who have difficulty accessing the state’s vaccine website.
