A new museum dedicated to music will open in Newark later this month.
The Grammy Museum Experience will open inside Newark’s Prudential Center on Oct. 20. It features videos of famous performances from the Grammy Awards, as well as costumes worn by some of music's biggest stars.
The museum is designed to be educational and kid-friendly. Exhibits include interactive video lessons for how to play instruments.
"We want you to be inspired. Without the next generation of fans, we won't have the next generation of stars,” says Daniel Cherry, the founding executive developer of the Grammy Museum Experience Prudential Center. “We want to pay it forward by giving students and musicians and fans and future stars a bit of a taste of what it takes to be a Grammy Award-winning artist."
The museum also features a section just for New Jersey artists.
The Newark location is the only Grammy Museum on the East Coast. Other locations include California, Mississippi and Tennessee.
Tickets for the museum are about $7 apiece. More information about the museum can be found HERE.
