A Neptune-based company has recalled more than 16,000 pounds of beef and chicken products.
Gourmet Kitchen Inc. says 16 of its ready-to-eat appetizer products contain peanuts without having any allergen warnings.
The items were marked with "EST. 18450" or "EST. 18450 P" and were sold between Oct. 15, 2014 and March 2, 2015.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service, the undeclared allergen came from paprika used to season the items, which may have been contaminated with peanuts.
So far, no illnesses have been reported.
