The 'Super Bowl flu' could cost businesses over $3 billion as millions plan to call out sick Monday.

Nearly 23 million people across the country are expected to call out sick. A new study by UKG says that's going to waste nearly 108 million working hours collectively.

A study shows people are 25% less productive at work when they are hungover. The average U.S. employee earns $222 per day. So if they waste a quarter of that on company time on what has become known as "Super Sick Monday," it will cost their employers about $55 per person, totaling a whopping $3 billion.

Many Americans would like the Monday after the Super Bowl to be a national holiday so they have a day to recover. A study shows 43% of workers want to see happen, up from 37% in 2024. Since President Donald Trump was at last night's game, maybe he'll consider it.
