Nearly 15,000 bees removed outside Starbucks in downtown Ridgewood

Ridgewood police say the bees were safely removed in about 30 minutes.

An un-bee-lievable event happened in downtown Ridgewood on Monday.
Nearly 15,000 bees were found in a tree near a Starbucks.
Local beekeeper Frank Mortimer was called in and was able to safely remove the beehive with assistance from the Ridgewood Fire Department, according to a Facebook post from Ridgewood police.

News 12 was told traffic was shut down on Ridgewood Avenue after the discovery was made.
The bees were relocated to a secure location in Glen Rock.
