The “NBA Baddies” basketball tournament that was scheduled to take place at West Side High School in Newark would’ve featured women wearing bikinis and playing a tournament for a $10,000 cash prize.

The tournament was canceled after complaints from the community. Parents want someone with the school district held accountable.

Organizers of the promotional video posted an apology on social media for the now canceled tournament.

After the promotional video made it's rounds on social media, parents asked how a video so graphic was allowed to be made on school grounds.

Newark Councilman Dupre Kelly wrote a statement that said: “The promotion video that was filmed was absolutely horrible and was not authorized by Newark Public Schools or the West Ward Councilman’s Office. As councilman and as a father, I would never allow this type of content to be filmed in any of our schools and I don’t agree or promote it in any way.”
