The Nassau SPCA is offering a $5,000 reward for information on six cats found by animal rescuers at Sunrise Mall over the past few days.
The animals were severely malnourished, with one cat found frozen to death, according to John DeBacker, from LI Cat/Kitten Solution.
DeBacker tells News 12 their condition indicates they are being dumped at the Massapequa site.
A report was filed with Nassau police, who said they have detectives on the case who are investigating.
The $5,000 reward is for information that leads to an arrest and conviction. Those with information pertinaing to the cats left behind is asked to call the SPCA at 515-THE-SPCA.
