A multi-state drug bust netted nearly 100 people including more than 80 from New Jersey.
People were apprehended from New York and Florida as well. Among the suspects from New Jersey is an accused leader of a drug trafficking network.
Seventy-three of the men arrested so far are from Morris County, with 37 from Morristown. Two are from Essex County and another two are from Warren County. They are accused of trafficking cocaine, oxycodone, heroin and marijuana.
The bust was a massive multi-state operation with about 40 different police agencies all working together. Morristown police, the U.S. Marshals, immigration agents and even U.S. postal inspectors helped in the investigation.
The suspects range in age from 20 to 70. They face charges ranging from first-degree leading a narcotics trafficking network to fourth-degree conspiracy to possessing a controlled dangerous substance. Most are held on $200,000 bail.
Authorities say more arrests could follow.
